headspace Queanbeyan celebrates Youth Week
In recognition of Youth Week 2021 (with the theme ‘together more than ever’), headspace Queanbeyan is hosting a range of events to celebrate young people.
To mark the launch, Axis Youth Service along with headspace Queanbeyan, Grand Pacific Health, Queanbeyan Multicultural Hub and Southern Youth and Family Services are holding a BBQ lunch in Queanbeyan Park with activities including bubble soccer, archery tag, circus games plus more.
Nat Oliver, headspace Queanbeyan Community Engagement Officer says the events are an opportunity for young people to celebrate their contributions, have their voices heard and showcase their talents.
“Youth Week is an opportunity to really put the young people of our community first and let them have their chance to speak about important events as well as celebrate who they are, and the contribution young people bring to the community,” Ms Oliver said.
headspace Queanbeyan also held Youth Week festival events at Braidwood Central School and Queanbeyan High School earlier in the month.
“The theme this year recognises the challenges young people have faced during the past 12 months. We were keen to do something with local young people to recognise the hardships they have faced and also celebrate the way we’re overcoming them,” Ms Oliver said.
