Mindful in May provides an opportunity for people to reflect, and pay conscious attention to what is going on around them, while quietly noticing and accepting one's emotions, thoughts, and sensations.

Taylor Ryan, Community Engagement Officer, headspace Dubbo, explains the benefits of daily meditation and what they have planned for their upcoming mindful workshops.

"Daily meditation is great for the mind and body. Even ten minutes of meditation a day can have a positive impact on your wellbeing and outlook on life. Our free workshops will teach people how to meditate, de-stress, reduce anxiety, or simply try something new," explains Mr Ryan.

Participants will learn how to meditate as well as how to use practical tools such as art and vision boards.

"We will be holding four workshops across May, on Wednesday afternoons from 5.15 to 6pm. Our first workshop is on Wednesday 4 May with a meditation session hosted by Thrapa Choeling.

"The second workshop will be a vision board workshop with the headspace Dubbo team on Wednesday 11 May. This will be a fantastic afternoon for anyone who has always wanted to make vision boards but hasn't known where or how to start.

"On Wednesday 18 May, there will be sound healing with Bronte Dooley. In this workshop, you'll learn and practice sound healing, which is an ancient meditative technique that employs various musical instruments to produce healing vibrations throughout the body.

"Finally, on 25 May, we will finish the workshops with some mindful art with Grace Farmilo. We have four fantastic jam-packed workshops, designed to inform while still having fun," said Mr Ryan.

There are limited spaces for these workshops – book fast to avoid disappointment.
