National recognition for our First Nations workforce innovation
We’re proud to share that we’ve been recognised on the national stage, receiving the Model of Care & Career Pathway Innovation Award at the 2026 National Association of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health Workers and Practitioners (NAATSIHWP) National Conference Gala Dinner.
The award recognises our commitment to creating meaningful pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples to learn, work, lead and thrive in their communities.
Karen Ingram – Cultural Capability Lead and Justine Summers – Chief Operating Officer, were thrilled to be in attendance to accept the award.
This recognition belongs to many people, especially the First Nations staff, partners and communities who have shaped and strengthened our work over many years. What we’ve learned is that workforce development is about much more than employment opportunities. It's about creating workplaces where people feel valued, respected, culturally safe and empowered.
Justine Summers – Chief Operating Officer
For many years, we’ve focussed on creating meaningful pathways for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Island people to learn, work, lead and thrive in their communities. We’ve seen people gain qualifications, start careers, grow into leadership roles and make a lasting difference in the places they call home.
The progress made so far has been shaped by the leadership, knowledge and generosity of First Nations staff, whose contributions continue to strengthen our organisation, challenge us to improve and help ensure cultural safety remains at the heart of what we do.
As we celebrate this recognition, we also recognise that the journey continues. We’re proud of the progress made so far and committed to continuing this work alongside First Nations peoples and communities.
