How can occupational therapy help?

Our team of occupational therapists (OTs) can help you improve your independence by supporting you with new ways of doing things, new techniques, making changes to your environments or using new technologies to help you achieve your goals.

Our occupational therapists will work with you to help you participate in the things you need to do, want to do and are expected to do.

Who is occupational therapy for?

Occupational therapists work with people of all ages – from childhood through to older people. They can help with learning difficulties, disability support, rehabilitation after an accident or with mental health concerns.

Our team can support you by:

  • Supporting your emotional regulation and sensory needs
  • Providing a functional capacity assessment
  • Finding new ways of doing activities to make them easier for you, like showering or dressing
  • Changing your environment to suit your needs (home and environment modifications)
  • Assessing and prescribe new equipment like wheelchairs
  • Helping you find ways to participate in the things you enjoy

Driver assessments (Dubbo-based)

Driving helps you stay independent and involved in your community. If illness, injury or age has affected your ability to drive safely, our occupational therapists can help.

We follow NSW and national guidelines to help you drive safely or, where needed, guide you through the process if driving is no longer suitable.
