Are you a First Nations person interested in learning about project management while you support youth in your community?  If you are then we have an opportunity that will give you the skills you need!

Our headspace centre in Cowra has a short-term project that needs an assistant! You would only need to commit to one and half days of work per week from May through to the end of December. headspace is a nationally recognized provider of youth mental health services.

You’ll receive a wage while learning how to plan and deliver a project, work with other local organisations as well as other groups from across Australia who are also delivering the same project.

What support will I get

You will get support from the headspace Project Officer and other First Nations staff in a culturally safe and welcoming organisation.

Do I need any prior experience?

No experience is needed to apply for this position. However, you will need to show or complete:

  • Screening including criminal history and a NSW working with children check
  • Eligibility to work in Australia

After you start it’s important that you:

  • Can use a computer in a work environment (we will show you how when you start)
  • Are open to feedback to help you learn and grow
  • Are willing to get in and get things done once you have the confidence
  • Are really positive about making a difference to the mental health and wellbeing of First Nations youth in Cowra
  • Don’t mind a yarn
