Your Role Will Include:

  • Delivering a wide range of dietetic care and education, including assessment, planning, referrals, monitoring, and management for individuals, families, and communities with diverse health needs.
  • Offering outreach dietetic services to rural and remote areas, often partnering with General Practices to reach those in need.
  • Leading individual and group sessions for various populations, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and young people.
  • Supporting research by adhering to ethics guidelines and evaluation methodologies to ensure impactful outcomes.
  • Providing education and skill-building initiatives that empower the local health sector and enhance its capabilities.
  • Building strong partnerships with Local Health Districts, allied health professionals, GPs, government and non-government agencies, and community groups to develop, coordinate, and implement health promotion programs.
  • Improving access to services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, ensuring equitable care.
  • Maintaining clear and consistent communication with each client’s GP, regardless of referral source, and assisting clients without a regular GP in connecting with an appropriate practice.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Dietetics and membership with the DAA, along with a readiness to dive into the APD program.
  • Genuine interest in chronic disease services
  • A strong foundation in generalist dietetics, paired with advanced clinical reasoning skills in dietetics.
  • Self-motivated and collaborative – able to work independently and as part of a team to smash key performance indicators.
  • Super organised and efficient in juggling multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Proven expertise in delivering high-level clinical services, including thorough client assessments and interventions.
  • Experience in managing a clinical caseload with precision and care.
  • A deep commitment to providing culturally safe, client-centered care, ensuring every client feels respected and supported.
