Are you passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of people experiencing crisis? We are looking for After-Hours Crisis Support Practitioners to be based in our Albury office on Wiradjuri Country. We have full time and part time positions available.
About the Role
Our After-Hours Crisis Support Practitioners work with approved referrers (Hospitals, Acute mental health units, Police, Ambulance and Justice officers), NDIS participants and their networks to ensure positive and continuing care in crisis events. This Nation-wide service is the only of its kind in Australia.
Between 5pm-9am Practitioners are working through often complex crisis on the behalf of NDIS participants. This is an on-call service, but you are never alone. Your peers are rostered on with you and there is always access to practice and clinical support as you work to coordinate supports for individuals.
Between 9am-5pm Practitioners engage and educate with stakeholders, approved referrers – Hospitals, Acute Mental Health Units, Police, Ambulance and Justice Officers to support the successful use of the service. This work is the forward-facing component of the service which supports the priority focus of the After-Hours Crisis support.
About you:
- You are flexible, this is an after-hours role with night, weekend and National public holiday requirements. Employment will require availability for a 6-week rotating roster.
- Have the ability to maintain calm under pressure, dealing with a variety of referrers and people with a disability in a variety of crisis.
- Have a demonstrated high standard of interpersonal and communication skills and active listening skills
- Be able to establish and maintain effective working relationships
- Have sound computer skills and willingness to adapt to new software applications
- Have the ability to see a problem, design a solution, propose the best approach and negotiate for the best outcome for the person with disability.
- Maintain Stakeholder focus throughout all interactions in all aspects service provision.
- To be a collaborative and supportive team player.
- Have the ability to create a positive (and fun!) connection within all levels and aspects of our service.
