We are currently recruiting a Clinical Lead to join our headspace team in Queanbeyan, NSW (Ngunawal and Ngambri Country). In this pivotal role, you will provide clinical oversight, support a multidisciplinary team, and contribute to innovative service delivery that makes a real difference in the lives of young people.

What will you do?

As Clinical Lead, you’ll work closely with our headspace Practice Lead to provide clinical leadership and guidance, ensuring our team delivers high-quality, evidence-based services to young people and their families. You will play a key role in shaping service delivery and maintaining best practice standards.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Clinical Leadership: Provide consultation and expertise to headspace clinicians to ensure exceptional mental health care.
  • Promote Best Practice: Champion Family Inclusive Practice, Evidence-Informed Practice, and approaches to Alcohol and Other Drug screening, harm reduction, psychoeducation, and brief interventions.
  • Cultural Safety & Inclusiveness: Foster sociocultural inclusiveness and youth participation in line with the headspace Model Integrity Framework and Marathon Health Cultural Safety Framework.
  • Collaborative Care: Facilitate multidisciplinary clinical review meetings and care planning for young people accessing headspace services.
  • Risk Management: Proactively monitor high-risk clients to ensure quality, evidence-based care.
  • Supervision & Support: Provide clinical supervision, guidance, and support to clinicians, support staff, and other headspace team members.

Essential Qualifications and Registration

To be considered for this role, you must hold one of the following:

  • Psychologist – Full and current registration with AHPRA.
  • Social Worker – Approved Social Work qualification (Bachelor or Master of Social Work) and:
    • Completed additional mental health-specific training or hold endorsement in mental health.
    • Eligible for membership with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
  • Occupational Therapist – Full and current registration with AHPRA and completed additional mental health-specific training or hold endorsement in mental health.
  • Division 1 Mental Health Nurse – Completed additional mental health training or have relevant experience in mental health (e.g., postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing).

In addition, you will have:

  • Extensive experience and advanced skills in providing holistic mental health care, including working with families.
  • Demonstrated experience in leading multidisciplinary teams, including operational and clinical supervision.
  • A strong understanding of mental health and social and emotional wellbeing (SEWB) care for First Nations young people.
